This is our favorite place to take the dogs for a nice nature walk. Tucked behind a shopping center, it offers a mile or so of winding trails in a beautiful wooded environment complete with a hidden camellia garden. We prefer it to Oak Lake Park for its greater shade, fewer people and fewer dogs. A lovely spot that I... More

I regularly jog through the arboretum as part or runs through the adjacent neighborhoods. It is a great place to walk. My kids love going too, and it's easy to loop together a walk of whatever distance you want. A big storm in the fall knocked over some trees and bridges. The downed trees have been cut, but some bridges... More

Easy access to trail, less than 2 miles round trip. Enjoyed being in a wooded environment to walk. Would recommend insect repellant of some sort in warmer months.

Our friend's youngest child is infatuated with Bigfoot. To appease her imagination, we hiked through the Arboretum looking for signs of Bigfoot. As fate would have it, there is tangible proof Bigfoot inhabits the Chesapeake Arboretum. We found fur, footprints, even a hollowed-out tree where Bigfoot sleeps at night. True story. Let your imagination lead the way, but don't go... More

The Chesapeake Arboretum offers an escape from urban life with ~3.5 miles of trails carved into 46 acres of forested native trees, a running creek, and scenically appealing background ideal for photography, jogging, or just strolling about... Check it out and get some fresh air...

Went during Veterans Day weekend, not much to see. The parking lot is outside a neighborhood and the trails are across the street. The trails were okay, you see lots of trees and you can also see people's backyards as well. Adjacent from the parking lot is a greenhouse with nothing it in and a red barn next to it.... More

This is a little gem in the middle of "downtown" Chesapeake Virginia. Easy well marked trails. Shady paths with occasional wildlife. There are several geocaches in here which adds to the fun. I did notice no one obeys the dog on a lease rule here so be aware of that. Trees have identifying plaques which is nice.

Love this little park. Always clean with nice soft trails. There are some steps in some places and a nice stream that or dog loves to jump in. We go here at least once a month.
