We attempted to go here on a Saturday early afternoon... with thousand of our closest friends... Seriously, we approached the orchard from the east and we were not allowed to enter the orchard road from that lane. We were waived away from the orchard road...More

What a wonderful place to visit in the fall, just a stone's throw from Monticello and Michie Tavern. Beautiful vista with the Blue Ridge Mountains, and Charlottesville in view. Plenty of pumpkins, food, apples, and the ability to go pick your own apples if so...More

I'll start by saying this place was beyond PACKED! If you go, plan to arrive at opening. Traffic was horrible around 3pm. The orchards closest to the parking lot were picked over, but there are plenty of apples further out. I was unable to try...More

This is a fun place to visit that offers a spectacular view of Charlottesville along with its many types of apples. We like to stop and pick up Winesap and Stayman apples- we don't find this at home.

Very busy on Columbus Day, had to take an unpaved road through the orchards up to the apple barn. Lines for the gift shop moved quickly. Picked up local Bold Rock hard cider at their store on site. There's also a wine shop on site....More

Love to visit Carter's Mountain when in Charlottesville, but if you try to go on the weekend, especially in the fall, it is too crowded to enjoy. The views from the mountain are beautiful, love taking the hayride to the apple trees to pick your...More

This was our first visit to the orchard. Let's start with the cons: It was really crowded and the wind practically blew my kids over. That being said neither of those are really the orchard's fault. They had people directing traffic and they have an...More
