Our 2-year-old daughter spent hours at the Discovery Museum and had to be coerced out for nap time. Great for smaller kids as well as older kids, not overly crowded, clean, interesting and super fun! Worth a visit.

At almost 10 your child would be bored in about 30 minutes. There is some cool science related stuff that's interesting but I would agree that 5-7 is the ideal age for this type of exploration.
