Always a great place to camp. Enjoyed our time. The leaves were not at peak but this is truly a beautiful view when they are. We enjoyed going to several overlooks. Such a nice campground.

The scenery in this park is gorgeous. I also liked the history -- both mining and rail. Numerous short walks to scenic overlooks, which was great for my traveling companion who had knee issues. (The only shortcoming was dining at the Breaks lodge: mediocre at...More

The Breaks is a wonderful place to view nature and hike. Spent 4 days with a large group of hikers. We stayed in Catawba lodge. Room was nice with a large porch overlooking the gorge. View is great and if you are lucky you will...More

Wonderful time. Camped in section A and had plenty of room. Campers are spaced out nicely. Bath house was average. No heat. Had all there Halloween activities and contests. These were my kids favorite. Pumpkin carving, scream contest, costume contest all were big hits. Went...More

The trip from Pikeville to Interstate Park was short and lovely in the mid morning of an October friday. We did the loop hike that took us 3 hours, but included our picnic lunch break at a gorgeous overlook. We parked at Stateline overlook and...More

We camped in a 29' motor home. This State Park has full hookups. Windy roads on a mountain a little scary in a motorhome but beautiful. Nice restaurant in the lodge. Scenic overlooks, zip line, playground for kids and bike trails. Our only disappointment was...More

Well, the park has a lot of potential but do not come on Monday or Tuesday. The restaurant is closed both days and gift shop (for snacks) closes early. The lodge has an ice machine but not even vending machines that I could find. There...More

My wife and I went to Breaks on Monday the 18th of September for a one night stay. The drive up is very pretty but very slow. 30MPH is about all you can average on the mountain roads. I had done some research on the...More

My family and I have been all over. But, this was by far the best!!! Cozy, beautiful views, and plenty of history! The park historian, Carl Mullins, was the highlight, besides the views. He was knowledgeable and very humble. Answered questions and gave great suggestions.

I don’t know, but the visitors center is a good resource. If you want to go to West Virginia, I highly recommend the Watermen for white water rafting.

Just got back from a quick weekend trip here, we are tent campers. We stayed in spot A57. It was great very flat and level. It is on gravel and we forgot our mat, but that was our fault. The spot on either side of us looked... More
