Great wine , friendly staff who really know the vineyard and the style of wine produced. Bought several bottles to bring home with us. Will go back and visit the ruins in the future Had lunch at their restaurant Palladio. The food was outstanding but be aware that it is pricey $41 per person for 2 course lunch. But it... More

This is a great vineyard to visit, however I do not recommend a visit on a weekend, as it gets very crowed. We live close and have taken my people here, but have learned to stay away from Saturday's or Sunday's.

This is one of the biggest, and best known vineyards in Virginia. That being said, I'm sure it's a great place for a first wine tasting. They have a huge varietal of wines that are easy to drink as a new comer. However, as someone that regular explores VA vineyards, this was certainly not my cup of tea, or wine... More

My cousin and I recently visited the vineyard and ruins, and spent a lovely afternoon enjoying wine and conversation with our awesome pourer, Frank. A fantastic place to stop on the way to Charlottesville! Thank you!

Have visited Barboursville several times in the past, but not for a few years. The latest visit left us with mixed emotions. The tasting is a real bargain - $7.00 to taste about 20 wines, and you keep the glass. The wines are also pretty good, although they do not include their best wine in the tasting. The facility is... Our first time visiting and the winery did not disappoint. What a wonderful location. The Main building overlooks the vineyard and ruins of a historic structure. For the history/architecture buffs, what an added bonus. The tasting room is spacious and decorated nicely. The standard wine tasting allows you to taste up to twenty wines. Our group purchased a few different... More

A huge tasting list but mostly dry. I'm not a dry fan so that's why I have it 3 stars. Beautiful setting but that's about it.

The wine is great and the beautiful setting is amazing. The wine is OK, but better whites can be found at other wineries, as well as superior reds. Unfortunately, the staff is very rude. Yesterday, I went to buy two cases of olive oil - $215. There was no one in line and the two women were too busy talking... More

The wine, the food, and the ambiance were amazing. Sat in the library overlooking the grapes on the hills. Great time.

We went here to see the beautiful scenery and view, along with the stunning ruins. The wine tasting area was a little crowded and the wines themselves were not exceptional, but that isn't surprising for Virginia wines. We had a fun time!
