For $8, you can drive up to the top of Mount Ascutney (not including the .7 mile hike to the summit). The drive was fun - nice "Vermont scenic" views (including the Windsor-Cornish covered bridge over the CT River) with a few overlooks for stopping....More

A wonderful vista. We didn't have time for a hike up, but there are plenty of options. We drove to a parking lot near the summit and hiked to to top (less than one mile) where the views were wonderful.

Enjoyable and challenging trails to hike. Hiking to the summit is worth the effort. Historical remnants of granite quarry can be found off the brownsville trail.

We hiked the Summit Trail to the top of Ascutney. A super view of all Vermont and New Hampshire from the top of the Observation Tower.

If you love to hike, this is a great challenge. A couple of different site stops along the way but I believe a total of 6 miles all together.

My husband and dog and I hike every trial every year and it never gets old. Not a great view at the top but great spots along the way. Go early and avoid the traffic on the trails.

Beautiful scenery, great hiking trails and viewing areas for anyone to enjoy. The fall time with the leaves change is a great time to see some great colors.

We were just there this past weekend and did the hike up to the summit with a whole gang of kids (the youngest to do her own hiking is 4), as well as a 7-months-pregnant lady. It was very doable for us, but there were lots... More
