Infrastructure/lifts are outdated and lines are the worst in the East. Nice village and good local restaurants for a solid apres ski. That is of course if you get to ski. Stratton needs to make a real investment in their lifts to keep pace with...More

We went to Stratton for a concert last weekend and had a fantastic time. We stayed within stumbling distance of the venue, which is right outside the base lodge. There are plenty of restaurants and bars open right there and they were cooking food right...More

It's definitely more crowded in the winter, but hiking is great without the crowds. A few of the stores and restaurants were open, but we brought sandwiches and enjoyed them post hike.

Skied last month and all again I was extremely impressed with the mountain. Enjoyed the varied terrain and fast lifts. I love the lodge placements at the top, middle, and bottom of the mountain. Two minor annoyances to mention. Ticket scanners at lift pinch points...More

It was my third visit to Stratton - as always, the mountain is gorgeous; the staff is hepful and gives good information to the guests. It is not cheap skiing, but it's worth it! All the structure is great and well run. I got a...More

We are a family with beginning, intermediate, and advanced skiers, and we all loved Stratton. There are some long, easy, runs and enough decently challenging runs to keep our more advanced skiers entertained. I loved taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain....More

Crappy grooming so far in 2017. If you are going to charge premium prices, need to provide premium service. Or at least adequate. No excuse for the weak grooming.

You can certainly hike to the top if the gondola is not operating. It takes about an hour to hike up. If it is too much for your kids you could turn around at any point, some will hike to the mid-mountain lodge and return... More

Yes, there are many rental options at the base. Try renting at Obertal if you have a family but make sure the Tamarack chair is operating otherwise you will have to hoof it a few hundred yards to the main base.
