Almost everything about the castle was imported and extravagant. For some reason the now-crumbling bricks were imported from England. They even brought English marble to the marble capital of the US! Check out the trompe l'oeil ceiling above the billiard table on the second floor....More

What a horrid tour guide!!! He was pretty snide - though nicely deferential to the elder visitors. So glad to be left to wonder around instead of being forced to join the tour. Warning: If you are a young couple - expect him to be...More

We were attending a conference in the area, and the hotel recommended we see the castle. What a delightful surprise! One of the nice things about this place is that it is family owned, so many of the usual "do not touch" restrictions didn't apply....More

You can walk around everything and touch and marvel at the stained glass. The guide was quite knowledgable and did not necessarily keep to a script. The rooms are in good shape and they are trying restore to brick exterior. I would suggest adding a...More

Loved all the stained glass in this house. Want to return late one day to see the sun shine through the large stained glass window at top of steps. Tour guide advised it creates a rainbow of colors down the steps. Tour guide was great.

Old and decrepid but interesting place. It's really run down which is sad. Furnishings and history are interesting and guide was good. Cost $20 for 2 of us (with AAA).

As I recall... $10 per adult ($9 w/ AAA card), $6 for children 6-12 , children under 6 free... I think there was a discount for large group tours... enjoy
