    Fossils and a little bit of history

    You have to find the fossils yourself, but there are posters along the trails discussing ancient evolution and how the fossils came to be. Walking is easy, over grass and flat rock that house th fossils.

    The Trip through Time is wonderful

    I stumbled on the placards mounted through a meadow of wildflowers and adjacent woods and was blown away by the information, photos, and wonderful writing. So much fun for learners at any level.

    Amusing if you're bored.

    The preserve holds a few trails around the area, with basic timelines and history of the world signs guiding the way. The best part of the preserve is the fossils- but be prepared. You'll find a lot of swirly gastropod fossils, and that's about it....More

    The visitor center is open most weekends in June and September and Wednesdays through Sundays in the summer months. The trails are always open in the remaining months, but snow will obscure the fossils.
