Beautiful location but hiking is not well marked. We got lost after an hour as the markings just stopped on the upper trail.

Plenty to do at the campground/state park - lake beach, water sports, hiking. Close to many wonderful Vermont activities in and around Manchester, VT. Lean-to's make camping a little easier and rain less problematic. Family and pet friendly.

Came across this little gem on our recent trip through New England. Nothing fancy, but very enjoyable. More than reasonable rates, nice and quiet. Yes, Rt. 7 runs nearby and you can hear it...but it is situated away from most other built up areas. The...More

I've been coming here since I was two years old. Honestly, it hasn't seemed to change that much over the decades. Come lakeside and rent a kayak, row or paddle boat (affordably) and enjoy a picnic lunch at the many tables throughout. The setting is...More

Beautiful lake near both Manchester and Dorset. We went off season so it was cold but still glad we stopped! We saw paddle boats for the warm months. There's a sandy beach, shallow water great for kids to play on, an island, and beauty. Bathrooms...More

This is a mid-size state park near Manchester, Vermont. It has a nice lake which you can walk around and some other trails as well. It can be scenic in the fall. It does have a beach and swimming and canoeing in the summer time.

I went here and stayed for 2 nights for a wedding in October. Yes...wedding camping. This means that we rough it like we're camping...then we get dressed all fancy and leave the camp ground, then come back and get back to basics. It's always an...More

Spent a weekend (a cold weekend) at Emerald Lake tent camping. Sites were large and had a picnic table and fire pit in good condition. The fire pit had a nice, workable cooking grate. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Rangers we met were very...More

Beautiful lake with a walking path most of the way around it. There is a nice beach, with pedal boats and canoes for rent. My favorite time to visit is off-season, so I can bring my dog for swims in the lake!

Yes - you will have to park at the gate before the parking lot and walk 1/4 mile or so to get to the trails - we did it yesterday!
