About
Converted from the Central Vermont Railway to a bike path in the 1970s, this easy trail crosses through beaches and parks and offers great views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks and the city.

We are local and use the bike path almost daily for commuting into downtown Burlington -- such a beautiful commute (weather dependent, of course). The great thing about the bike path for tourists is it's there for whatever amount of time you have. Just a...More

Beautiful view with benches and swings; you can relax and enjoy the good weather, then stop at The Skinny Pancake for tea or coffee on an outside patio in good weather, or even some of their crepes (which we didn't try)

The staff are very helpful, even if it's been since elementary school since you've done serious bike riding. Yeah, you will look ridiculous in the required bike helmet. The bike trails are well-mapped, only slightly hilly. Enjoy the beautiful woods, breezy lake views, a two...More

What can I say about this path? It's just a beautiful ride. A little more worn than usual due to the Spring flooding, but still a nice leisurely path. Fun for the family - you can ride to the beach and hang out - or...More

Extremely scenic bike route along Lake Champlain. Nice breeze off the Lake made our ride even more pleasant. The route was easy and mostly flat - combo of both dirt and tarred surface. Lots of bikers! We rented bikes and helmets with ease. Lots of...More

The Burlington bike path is one of the best-maintained, best-marked and scenic bike paths we've used. It's also very well-used, especially right along the city's waterfront on a beautiful summer weekend, so be prepared for lots of company. In most stretches, pedestrians share the path...More

My wife and I wandered around along lake Champlain, adjacent to the bike path for a few hours. It was filled with activity. Obviously a lot of people riding bikes, but the "goings on" all along it's length was interesting to watch. People in Burlington...More

Yes. It would be best to call the local bike shops for availability: Local Motion and Burlington Segways are 2 shops.

I believe it is approximately 15 miles from end to end. You can, however, pick it up in multiple spots to make it longer or shorter.
