Converted from the Central Vermont Railway to a bike path in the 1970s, this easy trail crosses through beaches and parks and offers great views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks and the city.

The Burlington Bike Path is a true gem as it winds it’s way to the causeway leading to the Bike Ferry and easy access to the Islands. Thank you, Vermont, for repairing the damage to the causeway from this winter’s storms. A huge asset in...More

We hired an electric bike and normal bike from North Star Sports on Main St. They were very helpful and bikes were good quality. Pack some food from August Bakery (great food) a block from bike shop, as there is nothing on the bike trail....More

Was visiting a friend in Burlington on an early Autumnal sort of day and had some time to spare so I took a stroll down to the bike path because I'd been told it really is a very pleasant bit of lake-side enjoyment. To begin...More

I travel on this bike path from April until snow flies, sometimes into mid to late November. It is very safe as well as having spectacularly beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountain of New York state.

Rented bikes by the lake downtown. Very nice people at the bike shop. 20 miles round trip to the end where the bike ferry docks and back to DT. Half of the trail was unpaved. Pretty ride, but tough ride on a rental bike!

This is a beautiful place to bike! The lake and mountains are so gorgeous. It’s also easy so I could have biked all day!

First night in Burlington, we walked along the path. It was a nice cool walk along the lake, fun for taking pictures and just a relaxing walk. A good bit of bike traffic so stay alert.

We fell in love with Burlington because of it's bike path. We went everywhere on our bikes - to the beach, grocery shopping, to the breweries, coffeehouses, many restaurants and dining on the shore of Lake Champlain and it's marina. I even went to a...More

Yes. It would be best to call the local bike shops for availability: Local Motion and Burlington Segways are 2 shops.

I believe it is approximately 15 miles from end to end. You can, however, pick it up in multiple spots to make it longer or shorter.
