This tall stone monument is the symbol of Bennington and commentates a secondary battle to that at Saratoga in 1777 where the British were defeated invading the colonies from Canada. Set on a height of land on the north end of the historic Old Bennington...More

Easy to find tower. Nice park area. Location has a welcome center but it was closed for the winter. There’s an elevator you can go up to the top and see The town of Bennington.

We arrived to late to get in but we spent some time at the monument, impressive that it is and getting to grips with the history of the area and the people and personalities involved in Bennington.

There is a small display downstairs and an escorted elevator ride to the viewing area. It was not busy so we did not have to hurry or jostle to see through each window. It's not a must see from inside but an important part of...More

I stoped in about 4 pm on a clear fall day. The cost for an adult to go to the top is $5. Very reasonable but don't go up if it is foggy, you will be disappointed. The elevator operator is very knowledgable about the...More

The 306 ft. tall monument commemorates a key battle of the revolutionary war won by the colonials backed by the "Green Mountain Boys." We really enjoyed the site as a whole and riding the elevator about 2/3 up the monument to experience some wonderful fall...More

Visited on a beautiful, clear, fall day. Great views from all directions. The elevator operator was delightful. The gift shop operator had plenty of knowledge about the area.
