Even though it should be called Biting Gnat island, it's still pretty cool

My wife and i love this place - in theory - it is a beautiful island with amazing scenery, bison roaming the hillsides, a great collection of ancient gneiss in situ on the hillsides and especially a very neat visitor center. We probably live wrong because it seems that whenever we are here, the little sign on the entry station... More

I visited here with coworkers as we had time before a conference. Wow! Talk about amazing views. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and just being able to put my feet in the Great Salt Lake was awesome. We saw a few antelope in the distance but didn't get to spot any buffalo. All in all, well worth the trip!!

We enjoyed the park, took lots of pictures and made family memories. Plenty of wild animals and great sceneries, always a pleasure to visit the island!

Absolutely beautiful except for the bugs and the smell of the lake, which is out of our control. The buffalo were cool and we watched the sunset on the lake. If we were ever back through this area, we would definitely go back!

Interesting visit! Stop at the Visitors Center for maps and to get oriented. Then drive to the open attractions and enjoy! Photograph buffalo, birds and other animals! You easily can spend the whole day there!

A very beautiful park to visit. I'm glad we had the chance to see the buffalo and deer. We was able to get up close and personal to take so nice pictures with the buffalo in the back ground.

We spent three days in Salt Lake City and I was drawn to Antelope Island as I had read good things online about the wildlife on the Island and, of course, it's located within the Great Salt Lake which was on my list of things to see. Antelope Island is just under an hour's drive from Salt Lake City. There... More

Best to go in the spring or fall before or after the bugs arrive. We went and drove all over the island. There are buffalo, deer, mountain goats and depending on the time of year, all kinds of birds. There is also an interesting visitor's center that has displays and a video. Worth going to. Take a camera and you... More

What a beautiful state park. Gives you a little bit of everything to see the beauty of Utah. We saw plenty of Bison, Antelope, and other wildlife. We even swam in the Great Salt Lake! The only thing I would recommend is to bring plenty of bug spray! The gnats can be rough in the spring / summer.

Thank Russell M
