This quarry is the real deal. Not a play ground for kids but they do have fund climbing rocks and taking trails. Displays are well down. The quarry is covered which helps when it is hot, and it does it get hot. Very interesting. Roads...More

The drive on the dirt road seemed long, and sometimes confusing, but definitely worth it. The modern visitor center had a complete skeleton of allosaurus, and several well-displayed skulls. The 3-D plastic puzzle of an allosaurus skull was challenging for our 13-year-old. Best of all,...More

A nicely presented dig and on site museum. Continue on from here to the "Little Grand Canyon" of the San Rafael River. These to sites together make an excellent half day excursion on unpaved roads across sage and pinon covered hills and plains.

Really hoped we could visit, but the hours open information on line are totally wrong. We drove out of our way just to find out that they are only open Thursday-Saturday.

The kids really had a good time here. Not too far out of town. Lots to see and some good hikes. The picnic tables were a great addition.
