Hiking in the preserve if in summer consider morning or evening. The preserve area for hiking has no shade and is very hot mid-day. but is beautiful and the views are stunning. There are geocaches in the preserve to make your hike more interesting.

Take an hour and visit this nature preserve. Wetlands and a museum/visitor center. there are many hiking trails in and around this where you can see lots of wildlife. Free but donations accepted. Very kid friendly.

Stopped briefly to see the building and view the wetlands from the top floor deck. Still looked like winter but the red-winged blackbirds were singing. Lots of exhibits inside and information about the local ecology and energy saving measures to use at home.

What a wonderful organization. Miles of trails to hike or ski. Our group enjoyed a wonderful snowshoe tour and our guide, Hunter, couldn't have been more enthusiastic or knowledgable. From learning about the history of this great wetlands preserve to chasing animal tracks, I thoroughly...More

The 3rd floor is cool for viewing Elk and other creatures off in the distance. Especially fun for our kids was the indoor rock wall.
