As a relatively new UT resident I heard a lot about Donut Falls and decided to make a visit during the recent winter. We had a good amount of snow this year and the scenery was spectacular. I didn't bring snowshoes, but wish I would...More

Very nice hike, but I missed the turn off and went way too far the wrong way. I wasn't the only one, it's not marked well. It looks the the main path continues, but the trail for the falls cuts to the left past the...More

I've done this hike many times now. In the summer you can honestly do this hike in sandals. It's not too vigorous but provides a beautiful scene throughout the hike and especially at the top. Just recently I did this hike in the snow and...More

We hiked to the falls in the snow and while snow shoes were not necessary, spikes would have been very helpful towards the turnaround point. We were very fortunate at the falls to be behind a couple of woman, one who was familiar with the...More

Love this hike! Its the right distance with kids or for a leisure hike with friends. We went in Oct and loved the chance to enjoy Fall. The end of the hike to the falls is through water so wear shoes that can get wet....More

Didn't have any trouble finding the trail head. The drive up into the Wasatch was beyond breathtaking. I ended up driving all the way to the ski lift area, before heading back, just to see the beautiful mountains. Coming from SW FL, it was even...More

There is not much parking, but we saw a good amount of people hiking here. The first bit is quite steep. The last bit includes some rock surfaces to climb down to the water area. It was surprisingly doable for a wide range of people...More

My husband and I have hiked Donut Falls twice, once in late spring, once in the summer. It's a beautiful hike, not too long (especially if you wait until you can drive up to the primary trailhead instead of parking at the road). The falls...More

Wow! Pretty family friendly. Pictures don't do it justice! Amazing! It's a good workout. So worth the falls.

The hike is easy until you get close and then there is a bouldery climb down into the stream just below the falls. Everyone was able to do it but I could see some struggling on this obstacle. The parking at the actual trailhead is...More

I saw a photo of a cave with a waterfall coming through the roof. how do you get there?

The cave is at the top of the falls. During the winter you climb your way right to the top as the snow covers the falls. You have to crawl into the cave. I've not been there in the summer, but I imagine there is a trail that... More

Does this hike require snowshoes in the winter? I live in Florida and will be visiting Salt Lake for the first time. I want to do some hiking or some sort of outdoor exploring but I've never hiked in snow before. Thank you!

Hi Laurel, I was there in the summer, so I am unsure. Also living in FL myself. It was a pretty well laid out path, well worn, well marked. Parking could be tricky. If you park at the main road and hike in, you might need... More
