In a word: Fantastic! This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house is located about a half-mile from the main lodge/trading post. The house sits on a bluff and has remarkable views of the valley below and the majestic buttes. It is a very spacious ranch-type home with retro furnishings, a full kitchen, lots of comfy seating, and two fairly good sized yard areas.... More

Beautiful historic hotel in Monument Valley. All rooms look over the valley. We were on the third level (highest) just across from the dinning room. Rooms were of course older, but well appointed, even though they are smaller than more modern rooms, still wonderful. Weather was great, not too hot, not too cold. Dinning room had good food, breakfast, lunch... More

This review is only for the Jeep Tour of Monument Valley. Monument Valley itself was amazing with lots of beautiful views. The microphone/PA on our vehicle was not working well, the guide was also the driver. I could make out maybe 1 out of every 3 words he said. He really didn't add anything additional when we got off at... More

The lodge and restaurant are perfect for a one night stay while visiting Monument Valley. our room was on the second floor with a wonderful view of the Mittens. The Lodge is in need of a few upgrades but met our expectations. The staff were very accommodating. One complaint was the pink polyester/cotton sheets should be replaced. The restaurant has a... In a word...one of the best experiences in my life. The lodging was fine, nothing overly elaborate, but the setting and genuine friendliness of the hosts was what made it a memory of a lifetime. Our cabin overlooked the other rooms. Spacious and neat. We had a panoramic view of Monument Valley beyond. Phenomenal sunrise The local Navajo guides and... More

The jeep arrived but no-one was sure what trip it was doing as there were no signs displayed. The Native American guide did not announce anything. Some people wandered off to find the right tour. We enjoyed going into areas of the park not visited by private cars. This was informative and worth the trip. I am never sure about... More

We went on a Gouldings trip through Monument Valley. It was on a converted truck with a contraption on the back of truck that could seat 20 people. The truck was driven by a Navajo and although he spoke good English, the p a system was so poor and crackly it was difficult to hear what was being said. The... More

We took this tour when we visited Monument Valley. The tour includes a visit to a Navaho hogan and a demonstration of native crafts. Our tour guide Larry, a Native American, was really instructive in an entertaining way - he has a very dry sense of humour. The vehicular tour of the Valley was excellent and covered a great deal... This review concerns Goulding's Lodge only as we choose to take another tour (which I have reviewed in a separate listing). We arrived at the Lodge to find that our reservation, one room with two beds, had been changed to one room with a King. We were informed that this was done because of a group coming in. Fortunately we travel... More
