The falls at the end of the trail are pretty. These are probably the only falls in 100 miles. However, the trail itself is a long walk in the hot sun. There is virtually no shade. Also there is very little in scenic value along the way. You are rarely walking along the creek during the entire hike. The hike... More

Excellent hike, easy walking. A fun part is the chance to see a variety of non-venomous reptiles crossing the sandy trail. Beautiful garter snake on the sand. Wonderfully cool by the falls and young people swimming the cold water. A treat in the high desert. Campground not at all for motor homes of larger sizes. Great campground host.

After a couple of hours drive in hot July, our kids especially loved this place. The Creek forms a nice pool, so everybody could cool down, both parents and kids. As it does not seem well known, there were plenty of empty pick-nick tables - grills included. Good parking, too. A lovely green oasis in the middle of beautiful valley... More

This is a fairly flat six mile hike. Sandy parts of the trail will slow you down but my six year old didn't complain. The falls are great. It took us 3.5 hours round trip with plenty of stops and a half hour at the falls. Take your time! Listen to the birds and watch the rainbow trout swim upstream.

This is a lovely hike through gorgeous mountains and past a river and beautiful yellow trees. At the end you are rewarded with the waterfall. It's an easy walk and I'd recommend taking a little picnic for the end - we sat eating our oranges listening and watching the waterfall - lovely.

Wonderful hike to a beautiful waterfall. Allow at least four hours for the hike. It was not too strenuous and had different grasslands and scenery along the 3 mile hike to the falls (6 miles round trip). It is not a loop hike. It's 3 miles in and 3 miles out. There is no water drinking water available once you... More

Trail walks along Lower Calf Creek to the lower falls. It's 1/3 the distance from Escalante towards Boulder, UT. This is a scenic hike with lots of dramatic cliffs and desert varnish. Falls are in a cool small amphitheater, with pretty colors. Round trip was about 3 hours for us, including a leisurely lunch.

We loved this hike. Although, there is a small parking lot. You need to get here early because of that. There is a picnic area which we took advantage of, too. Get a brochure for the hike because there are some pictographs on the trail on a faraway mountain that you will miss if you don't know they are there.... More

6 mile hike, moderate due to length, easy as to difficulty, highlight of hike is very nice waterfall, was surprised how heavy the water flow was in October, good for picnics, provided some insight into ancient cultures, highly recommend , must do , if in the Escalante area

Great hike to this waterfall - 12 km round trip. Parking is limited, so start early. Spectacular views and well worth the walk.
