This is a beautiful stopping point down scenic route 12. Take 1-3 hours to hike the trail (just over an hour will get you to the petroglyphs or 3+ to the falls and back). The hiking is moderate but not to strenuous and absolutely beautiful with lots of different terrains. Don't wear mesh shoes unless you want them full of... More

This was one of my favorite hikes! It was overwhelmingly scenic from start to finish, with a beautiful waterfall to enjoy halfway through. It's a great introductory, or cool-down hike. Good for folks of all ages/abilities. Definitely make this a stop on your Utah adventure!

An easy 3 mile hike (1 way) to one of the most beautiful falls I have ever seen. We started at about 7 am in the morning so we got to enjoy the falls for about 45 min. all to ourselves.

While this is a relatively easy hike (no big elevation changes or technical skills required), the ground changes a lot -- from rock to packed dirt to loose sand -- and it can get blazing hot if the sun is out. Make sure to grab the hike guide when you pay the ranger/park fee in the parking lot. (Trailhead lot... More

(Lower calf creek falls) This hike took my family and I (all adults over 28 in good physical health) about three hours on the dot and was beautiful. The waterfall at the end of the hike makes the trip worth it! The only reason I did not rate it as excellent is because there were so many sandy areas on... More

There is easy assess to the recreation area and this is the starting point for Lower Calf Creek Falls Trail along with other trails. Lower Calf Creek Falls is an oasis after hiking the desert terrain (RT 6 miles). On hot... More

The hike to the Lower Calf Creek Falls passes through towering Navajo sandstone walls on both sides of the trail. It wasn't crowded when we were there which made for a very pleasant hike with time to admire the pictographs and the beautiful monuments around us.

The hike into Calf Creek Falls was a fairly easy hike. Pick up a brochure when you sign the trail register and stop at the numbered posts and follow along in the brochure. Lots of cool stuff to see that you probably would miss without reading the brochure. The falls were beautiful and definitely worth the hike in.

Enjoyed the hike, the views, flowers and cactus were in bloom. Easy trail, well graded without a lot of vertical.

The Lower Calf Creek Falls trail is a spectacular 6 mile in and out trail with little elevation change. Parts of the trail are sandy which is more difficult than a packed or dirt trail for hiking. Just a warning that this is a HIGHLY populated hike, so do your best to get to the trailhead as early as possible... More
