Compared to the business of Bryce Canyon, this slot canyon is a welcome relief from the crowds. This was our second trip to Willis Creek. If you want to see a slot canyon in Utah that is relatively safe, this would be the one. Having...More

Directions to Willis Creek Slot Canyon are fairly easy to find online. It is a 20-minute drive on a dirt road once you turn onto Skutumpah Road. It was generally easy to maneuver in our rental SUV, but it could be troublesome if there has...More

We were staying near Tropic and really wanted to see a small slot canyon. The bigger ones were out of our way so this one was perfect. The road is a bit rough in a few places but we made it in a Honda CR-V...More

First of all, most people have never heard of this hike, but it's a must do. Great views without the crowds!

Semi easy to access via the dirt/sand road (power through those corners) and a nice walk through the canyon. Easy enough to stay dry by zig zagging back and forth across the stream. Nice little waterfall in the second slot. Definitely would recommend if you...More

This was our makeup after a very underwhelming Antelope Canyon. The drive out to the trailhead had a few spots where 4wd could be helpful, but overall a pretty tame approach. A bunch of cars in the parking lot, but felt like we virtually had...More

I hiked Willis Creek Slot Canyon with my son and we loved it. The hike is easy for all ages. A shallow creek runs through the canyon and it easy possible to avoid stepping in water at almost all points along the way. At worst...More

OK, so the three of us attempt the dirt road in a crappy, underpowered economy rental car, the absolute cheapest that they had. In the midst of drought (June 2018) the access dirt road was mostly talc-like red powder several inches deep. With the nearby...More

It was a beautiful day! We started the hike at 4:30 in the afternoon and hiked in about 2.5 miles. The was plenty left to hike but we needed to get back to town. The canyon walls protected us from the sun so we stayed...More

Off the beaten path slot canyon recommended by the Airbnb host we used. Very worth the drive and hike through it! Just a trickle of water in it usually so not super hard to hike it.

I feel sure it's OK--I see people with dogs out there frequently, not even on leashes, and as long as you feel confident that you can control him/her, you'll both love it!

Getting very little rain and snow this year, though it's happening in other parts of Utah. Trails in the area you're interested in are quite dry. Even when it does rain, it dries out quickly anyway.

When we were there the water was about ankle deep. I don't know what Keens are. It was so very muddy if u tried to skirt the water.
