.....might as well take a short stroll to see this authentic home furnished as it was during the Civil War. The original owner was well-to-do. No admission, but any donation is welcome. A great way to understand how folks lived "back in the day."

Located in downtown Waco, just up the road from the Magnolia Silos. Charming historic home that takes you back in time. Lovely antiques, call or visit the Historic Waco Foundation website for tour hours. Most weekends, but check to be sure. Run by volunteers.

This home is especially beautiful at Christmas. The docents are local seniors dressed in period attire. Highly interesting and very informative. This is an annual visit for my young daughters and I.

They only have one historic home open for touring each day. So, to see them all may take you several days. This was built in 1870 by the Fort family. They are still working on restoring the house to its original condition. Our tour guide...More
