The place was empty except for one other family. The store up front where you enter looks empty and uninviting. It looks like they are struggling financially but that is just an opinion. I did like the closeness you could get to the birds ( Caracarra and hawk and owls) The caregivers were exceptionally nice and we watched the gals... More

We were driving to Corpus and our kids were getting a little impatient. We decided to stop by and check out this place to give the kids a break from the car. They enjoyed. It is a small Zoo but has a big heart. Animals are taken care of, staff is super friendly. Animals get close to you, they are... More

Foul, unclean smelling cages, extremely small, sad animals. It took about 30 minutes to see the ENTIRE place. Bring a picnic to eat in the car so you feel like you had your moneys worth. This is a true example of a city throwing together an attraction to bring tourists. backfire Victoria...I won't be back. Yes, Fossaiti's Deli is in... More

We visited the Victoria zoo while waiting a couple of hours for dinner. The zoo was clean, several of the large birds looked like they were recovering from injuries. They had a good many reptiles. It was a nice visit took about an hour to see everything.

This zoo is small. It only has about one of each animal. But it is fun. It gets unbearably hot in the summer, so I'd recommend going during another season. It also has a pretty good haunted zoo during Halloween, too scary for young kids though.

We were probably lucky that the weather was not optimal, because there could not have been more than 10-15 people in the zoo. You can get up very close to the animals, but watch out for the unhappy tiger.

The zoo is small, but they are now focusing on local wildlife and get much of their residents from rehab places (Animals that cannot be released). Animals are well taken care of and seem relaxed. Great venomous, native snake collection. Who knew there so many venomous snakes in Texas?

Our family truly enjoyed the visit to this zoo. It was smaller than we expected but that turned out to be quite nice. Aside from the strong animal smell, it was very clean and well kept. It wasn't crowded and we even had the opportunity to ask the staff questions about the different animals onsite. They were all very knowledgeable... More
