My husband and I live in the Azalea District. We are thrilled with the beautiful gardens and historical homes every day! After 10 years we still drive the brick streets and marvel at our good fortune

We visited during 95 to 100 degree weather. Although not lush, the gardens and landscaping were wonderful. We mainly drove --it just wasn't walking weather--to look at the houses, stopped when we saw those exquisite gardens. Loved it, so worth walking in less heat.

I don't know how you would see this any other way. I suppose you could walk around, but there are quite a few streets that you will want to go up and down. It was about a 10-15 minute adventure.

There are two routes, a map is available and the signage along the way is excellent. As a visitor to town, I found the arrangement very nicely done so with no familiarity we navigated quite well. Can’t imagine why we took so many photos -...More

The azaleas bloomed early this year and when we arrived - a week before the festival was to begin - the azaleas were already dying. But it was still a wonderful visit. We had stopped at the visitor's bureau and they suggested we stop at...More

During a weekend visit to Tyler I discovered the city's Azalea and Brick Streets neighborhoods. Given our unusually warm weather the azaleas were a riot of colors! I grew up in Houston and do not recall azaleas in such abundance or blooms. Each block brought...More

If you love beautifully landscaped residences, you will definitely enjoy visiting the gorgeous homes in the Azalea Residential Historic District. The azaleas are breath-taking and in peak bloom right now, several weeks early this year. The trails are very well marked with street sign.

Parking on the street is available, and you can print a map off the website if the Tyler Chamber of Commerce isn't open.
