There is a great lakeside trail that goes all the around the lake, with two spots with restrooms, and a bridge over water that goes by a beaver dam. The trail was about a mile. Staff at the store were so helpful. Take a picnic lunch and find a sheltered spot to enjoy views of the lake.

We had a great view from Lake View site #30. We were close enough to the spring fed lake to see it and have a fantastic view. There are a few sites that have direct lake access for a kayak or canoe but #30 is not one of them. So, if direct lake access is important to you, maybe pick... More

I love this park. It's great for taking a nice walk or having a picnic. Bring the kids and just relax. You can fish here or play with a frisby or just walk and take photos. Everyone in the Tyler area should spend some time here! It's a hidden jewel.

We have been visiting Tyler State Park the last 26 years. Usually spending Thanksgiving and Spring Break weeks there. Park Rangers are very helpful and drive thru the park all day. It is a beautiful State Park with all types of camping sites from rugged with water only, full hookups with water, electric and sewer, to screened shelters. The park... More

Absolute awesome State Park with really nice features and Picnic areas. Family found a picnic table & grill right next to the lake and had absolute fantastic time. Clean, easy access and friendly location. Restrooms were nearby and clean. My wife was quite surprised as it was not a normal park restroom

By far one of the best state parks I have stayed at. Our site had full hookups. Showers were individual entries as opposed to cubicles, very hot water. Great fishing and swimming areas. Close to other Tyler attractions as well as easy access to interstate highway.

Our family has used this location to meet and camp out for the weekend. The accomodations are just what we need and the location is great as there are restaurants, stores and entertainment within 20 minutes or less of this location.

Stopped in early for self check registration before the ranger office opened and after picking up a map, made a plan to hike trails A, B C. We loved the hiking until we tried to get on the B trail off A. It was closed off but nowhere was that publicly posted at the trailhead. We made due, but after... More

It is important to make reservations early if you want to camp overnight, particularly on week-ends as it is a beautiful camping area with fill hook-ups.

I love how away from everything the State Park of Tyler is, and how you watch the landscape and the trees change from Rose Capitol to Piney Woods. The trees are tall and gorgeous, and though we went at the end of winter before the life could return to everything it was still a peaceful and beautiful adventure. Make sure... More
