While a visit to a cemetery may seem odd, it is a fascinating way to learn about the families and history of the area. There is a Confederate memorial just outside the gate, and graves dating back to the early 1800s. The funerary art is...More

This is a very interesting small country cemetery. The weeping angel tombstone is one of 4 in Texas by the same sculpture. Unfortunately, it has been vandalized and one of the arms has been broken off. There are veterans buried there going back to the...More

Stopped here on a cold, January day after it snowed the night before. We were the only ones here and it was so quiet and serene. Beautiful grounds, interesting headstones and statues. Well maintained. Very nice. Definitely worth a visit by all taphophiles.

Spent two nights in Marshall and saw the review online. Drove over and was not disappointed. We first thought it was locked up...but you just have to open the gate. Posting pictures. Glad we stopped!

Just was here to lay a family member to rest. It's quiet and very clean. You can see your love ones gravestones.

Quiet, little cemetery where one can contemplate history and lovely stone work. Well kept. Would love to have more history of families but that adds to putting the puzzle of history together.

The cemetery is absolutely stunning. Gorgeous statuary, exceptionally well maintained, peaceful location. I loved wandering around and reading the inscriptions.

The Scottsville Cemetery is located on one of my favorite back roads. I never fail to stop and drive around the circular drive and take in the beauty of the chapel and monuments when traveling between Jonesville and Marshall.

This cemetery is absolutely beautiful. There are MANY large, beautiful markers. Most are better described as sculptures! The weeping angel is one in particular, but there are SO many more that are just as beautiful. Very historic cemetery with graves from soldiers who died in...More
