You can buy tubes or some charity has a bus, tubes, and ride back to your car- where you started. There is no actual fee to be in the river. San Marcos State has a cement deck and ladders for swimmers and tanners.

There are certain places to BBQ but bring your grill in the car so it stay dry, unless it's sushi.
