A must stop in San Angelo. It's very inexpensive, and fascinating. The museum curator is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. Lots of different buildings and great information.

You may expect to see John Wayne ride into the parade grounds of this historic fort. Beautifully restored and preserved, this site features stables, bunk houses, headquarters and a dining hall.

If you like history and the old west you need to visit Fort Concho. This was the best and most complete old frontier fort in the US. The City of San Angelo has done an excellent job. Kudos!
