Enjoyed the cleanliness of the beach, with small thatched roof shelters providing relief from the sun. Waves are small and water is shallow, so it's great for young children. We did see a few jelly fish. Covered picnic tables are available on a first come first serve basis in a grassy area with playground equipment. Drawback: sand burrs! Shoes are... More

Nice little beach area with covered picnic tables. Great for small children as it gradually gets deeper - lots of shallow water. There is a fee to enter the Beach.

The whole town of rockport is infested with mosquitoes! Anywhere you go anytime of day doesn't matter. They even come out in the wind and in full force. Went to the park full of mosquitos, went to the beach full of mosquitoes, try to go outside of the Rv at Rv park and can't even do that. Just like others... More

Hi, I love this beach, especially for small children. You do not have to worry about riptides. The bank does not slope off dramatically. Of course, children should be watched by an adult near water at all times. There are lots of wonderful birds on this beach. You can fish, picnic. There are playgrounds.

Every once in awhile it feel good to go to the beach, enjoy the breeze and the view while sitting in the shade smoking a great cigar. I highly recommend trying this, enjoy.

This is by far the cleanest beach on the Gulf Coast. The crews come by early morning to rake the beach and remove trash and debris. With a fishing pier, facility rentals for events, beach shade, covered areas for picnics, salt water pool, and food vendors this is one do not miss place.

The loveliest beach I have visited in TX and I have been to many. The sand was clean. There was plenty on parking. Also lots of grassy are to sit, play, have a picnic, etc. It is closer to San Antonio then any other of the beaches I've been to.

Clean by beach standards. Park in the parking lot at the entrance and walk in for free. Nice tables in the shade for picnicking. Lot's of shallow water to swim and play in.
