Crossing the Corpus Christi ship channel is by ferry. The state runs it and there is no cost. The ferry ride as about 7 minutes, the wait can be "forever." The moan-backs that direct traffic are rather slow and seem like homeless people most of...More

Staff are very good at what they do and the quick trips on the boats are fun. Not uncommon to see dolphins in the channel by the way.

If you're lucky dolphins can frequently be seen swimming the channel. The new boats are great and it's a smooth ride. Great, courteous and friendly crew!

Very, very short trip over to island. Saw porpoises in water next to ferry on ride over. Staff was very nice and polite.

This is a very short ferry ride. You can usually see dolphins. It essentially provides a way for Highway 361 to cross Aransas Pass. You will usually have a short wait. No big deal. It sure beats driving around. It is kind of fun to...More

The Port A ferry is a Texas tradition and an institution. The system has improved over the years, and what a great way to stop and see what this region is all about. On busy days, they could use an extra ferry to cut down...More

We love going across the ferry! If you watch, you can see dolphins jumping as you go across. There is seating and life jackets available if you want to get out of your car on the way across but it really isn’t a long trip....More

I'm not sure why a bridge is not build over the channel but the ferry system appears to be pretty efficient. We'ver traveled across the ferry six times in the past two weeks and had less than a five minute wait four times, ten minutes...More
