Recently came for the weekend to go camping with my family. Campground and facilities were clean. Great place to relax away from the city to hike or set up a hammock and hang out.

Before you visit Sam Houston National forest, plan your trip well. We traveled towards Lake Livingston over country road and did not see something attractive.

The weather was perfect for a walk in the forest, The lack of manmade noise was wonderful. A good mixture of hard woods and local flora and fauna was therapeutic. Saw my first real live road runner, and it did not go "beep beep", but...More

RV camp sites book early, but we were able to renew our site the morning of, so I think they leave some sites available for that purpose. The only swimming hole in the park is nice, but it is a good distance from the camp...More
