It's a pretty big park, plenty of nature to go around and explore with either rental cabins or places to camp out. There's a little nature center a bit from the entrance which provides some information about the wildlife there, It's a great place for a walk with the dogs

Visited for the first time to have a picnic lunch, ride bikes with my two daughters, and take a peek at their overnight facilities. Lots of picnic tables in various areas (best ones by Nature Center where there is a restroom/shower facility). We didn't plan to visit the Nature Center, but ended up going in because there happened to be... More

This was our first trip to the park. We enjoyed walking the trails along Peach Creek. We saw some of the cabins...they look nice . It was very hot so we only stayed a few hours. We only live 10 miles away so will definitely go back when it's cooler. We are seniors and there is no fee for the... More

Great rails, a beautiful bridge, nature center. A great place to slow down for a bit. I have only went for day trips but they do have rental facilities and camp sites available.

Be ready to walk if you plan on hiking the AmeriTrail. Our mistake, but looking at the map, we did not realize it was 9 miles. After 3 hours in, we got worried and decided to turn back so we'd be back at the car before it got dark. We definitely plan to finish the trail soon. Lovely bit of... More

My family loves to camp but with a rainy spring break weather, we decided to go to nearby Lake Houston Park and rent an A-frame. It was fantastic! Kids loved the A-frame and the isolation. It was pitch black on our site (we arrived at 7pm) but can see the cabins all lit up across the lake. A nearby walk... More

Stayed at Lake Houston Wilderness Park this past weekend with 8 teen boys. We rented 2 A-Frame shelters that were really nice, however they were a no water or electric sites. They both had a porch and were raised off the ground. The inside was a nice flat board floor, so we all didn't have any stumps or slanted ground... More

We were in the Pine Grove Dining Hall. The park is beautiful. There was seating for about 100 and a dance floor area, a kitchen and a food area. It all worked very well. We had seating and the head table outside for another 100 people. The park was a great backdrop for the pictures. Downside, Ground was soft in... More

The people are nice. It's not too crowded. It's clean. Nobody bothers you. We love it. We bring the bikes and go trail riding.
