Staff: Friendly, knowledgeable, really seem to enjoy their job, which is fun for guests. Animals: There are so many more than you would think. Really! As a kid, they mostly just had snakes when I came, but 20+ years later, they have lions and panthers and wolves, and on and on. They let their chickens and peacocks roam the grounds,... More

My granddaughter loves snakes, so we took her and her brother here. The highlight for them was holding a yellow python. There is a huge variety of snakes to look at. And then there's the petting zoo. Several overfed potbelly pigs, a tired llama, and a few goats. I felt sorry for the other animals in their small enclosures.

We have been going to the Animal World and Snake farm for 8 years now, off and on. Had not been there in a few years. Great improvements are there for you to see. reptiles, animals and birds are well displayed. They have expanded the whole place. If you have gone in the past, you need to go again, if... More

Took my nephews. They loved it. They even brought out one of the snakes for everyone to pet and take pictures. Helps give everyone education on snakes and other animals. You can even feed some of the animals. They take great care of the animals

Having driven by for the past several years, I finally had time to stop. The front building houses an amazing array of snakes, including the world's 10 most poisonous. In back, there's a facility housing monkeys, panthers, buffalo, a camel, lions etc. Not the best conditions though. Still for only $13 to get in, not a bad deal.

For a smaller place this is surprising diverse. This was featured on the TV show Dirty Jobs which was really cool. A friend of ours teenage daughter had her birthday party at The Snake Farm which surprised us but it turned out to be really fun. Keep that in mind if you need an unusual place for a party.

The amount of animals they have is pretty decent, and they do a different show every 30 minutes all day. My kids enjoyed the petting zoo and getting to see the fattest little pigs they've ever seen. We enjoyed watching all the animals, especially the white lions as they rough housed with each other and then lounged around for pictures.... More

I will say, I don't really like seeing animals in small cages and this is what this place mostly is. If I could give this place a 3.5, I would but I'm giving them the benefit of the higher rating. I moved to Austin in 94 from South Texas and have been passing this place all this time thinking it... More

After quite some time we visited this place again, and we were very impressed with the many improvements that have been made. Snakes are just a part of it. They now also have many other animals. It is worth a visit.

The 6 or 7 foot deep rattlesnake "pit" is kick butt. It must be 7 or 8 feet in diameter and covered with a locked iron cage to keep the toddlers out. Ask the clerk if you can say Hi to Ramona
