Located about two miles west of the I-35 freeway via State Highway 306 (hard to find, particularly at night), the 139-year old combination “saloon and dance barn” called the GRUENE DANCE HALL, the oldest dance hall in Texas, is a famous music venue for popular...More

Great place to hear local musicians and other artists with smaller followings that don't play the Tobin Center or the Majestic. Great acts for free on the weekdays like Jonathan Byrd and Corin Raymond. Gruene Hall is a great venue for those artists on the...More

This dance hall just keeps sprawling..fun to see and look at the many old pictures of the musicians that have been here. But disappointed no one was playing? Can't imagine how hot it must be ..just fans ,no air conditioning? Staying true to its roots!

It used to be that people could sit out in the grassy area and listen to a concert if they chose not to enter the dance hall. Now, the owner has oversized "No Loitering" signs all across the outside of the hall structure. In addition,...More

A bit of Texas history with eclectic music and cold beer. There is a nice garden as well. Probably best to plan ahead as their capacity is 800 and they do sellout.

Friday afternoon beers and music, long tables in hall to accommodate large groups. If visiting Gruene then Gruene Hall is a must stop.

I need information on parking for Gruene Hall concerts. Do you need to arrive early to find a spot? How late can you stay in the parking area? I drive a camping van and like to stay late after a concert ends, sometimes even overnight if possible. Can someone explain the parking set up for Gruene Hall?

We were there on a weekend with a sold out show and still found parking. No up front but not too far.

I know the movie "Michael" was filmed in Gruene. I googled "Pure Country" and it said it was filmed in May Pearl, which is south of Dallas.
