Interesting, quaint shops, wineries, restaurants in historic buildings. The Antique shop, General Store are just two of the 30 or more places to visit. Lots of free parking, the Guadalupe River below the town, the pretty flowers and landscaping make it a good day trip from nearby towns.

This was my first time to visit Gruene and I loved it! Cute shops with clothes, antiques, a general store, the dance hall. I have friends that sweat by The Gruene Mansion Inn and I can't wait to stay there. Even if you think you only have an hour, you should stop and check it out.

Really nice little area to shop and grab a snack. Parking was plentiful on Sunday afternoon and there is a good selection of shops to explore. Recommend.

The old town area has the best tourist shopping and restaurants in the New Braunfels area. Parking is good, with a large free, lot across from the Main Street area. Watch walking with small children, it's quite busy and sidewalks are not ideal (some broken areas and spots without real sidewalk access). A must stop if you are in the... More

A nice little area, for dancing at night, walking in the day, walking at night.... seems safe. Cute little shops, like a blast from the past... also near brand name hotels and Schlitterbahn Water Park

We loved visiting Gruene. Although we weren't interested in shopping there was still plenty to enjoy in the historic district. Everything was so beautiful and the people were so friendly that we didn't want to leave. We had amazing food at gristmill and enjoyed music and dancing in the afternoon at the hall. Make sure to go

It's been years since we went to Gruene. Last time we went it was kind of a struggling artists area. There are still spots of that although the number of places/shops has grown significantly. The General store has remained true to its heritage while other places have primarily popped up that are tourist traps. We went to the Gruene Olive... More

Great old section of New Braunfels. Lots of shops and restaurants. Home to Gruene Hall the oldest dance hall in Texas. Lots of well known groups perform here. Can spend an entire day here with plenty to see and do.

Charming place! Parking during the week wasn't an issue and everything is within walking distance. Good variety of shops to visit and lots of restaurants. Enjoy local Blue Bell Ice-cream at the general store and plan to spend several hours taking time to browse all the little shops.

I have been here many times, and I keep going back! The Gristmill is AWESOME! and the food and atmosphere are great. service has always been wonderful. Gruene Hall is a great place to listen tomusic and have a cold one! If I ever need a quick gift, especially for someone not from Texas, I go to one of the... More
