We were on the road, getting into town later than we had planned. I knew we wouldn't make the visitor's center before it closed so I called. A very friendly young man answered the phone even though it was nearly their closing time. I told him we had wanted to see the cemetery and he said he would put a... More

We were in Nacogdoches on a Monday and virtually everything was closed. The gentleman in the visitors centre was very helpful and informative and we spoke to him for a long time. There is a display of artifacts upstairs and downstairs there is a film of Nacodoches. A Visit to the visitor centre is a must.

If you have never been to Nacogdoches, then you should stop here! Gave a map of the area of the points of interest to us. Very friendly and most helpful. Lots of pamphlets and info in the center. One of the most knowledgable centers we have been in.

The CVB has a lot of info on anything you want to know about Nacogdoches. If they don't have it, they will give you the name of someone who knows. Nacogdoches is rich in history and they have a nice place to share that with anyone. Restrooms are available. It's close to several downtown eating places. The brick streets are... More

Did not get the gentleman's name inside, but he and my wife had a great conversation about all the things we might see while in town as well as the town history.

Tours available daily. Many historical artifacts and interesting info on early settlers. Basement has interesting details as well. Lots of history in the oldest and first town in Texas!
