Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing and caring for non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs, providing them with a stable, loving, and exceptional home, with an abundance of loving and compassionate care. We provide all of our animals with regular, balanced, nutritious meals; exceptional veterinary care; safe and comfortable sources of shelter; frequent enrichment; and, when appropriate, human or canine companionship. We do not buy, sell, or breed any animals.

We also support educating the public about issues involving wolves and wolfdogs, and dispelling the many myths that surround these frequently misunderstood animals. Through guided on-site tours, visits from ambassador wolfdogs, off-site presentations, and other outreach avenues, we provide accurate, engaging information about wolves and wolfdogs, conservation issues, and the downsides of exotic pets.

I originally booked a tour because my husband and son love wolves but after hearing about them (in general and the wolves individual back stories), I enjoyed it as much or more than they did! You must visit their website and book a tour in advance and there is a $10 a person suggested donation (but they do not turn... More

We visited the wolf sanctuary twice last week while in the Lake Conroe area. The first was for a basic daytime tour of the facility. They currently have 11 wolves/wolf-dog hybrids. They aren't kept in 5 class hotel accommodations but they have room to roam in their good size pens and most have companion wolves to live and play with.... More

Excellent guided tour and detailed narrative on each and every wolf, or part wolf. Very informative on wolf behaviors. Clearly our guide, the sanctuary manager, has a passion for the well being of these magnificent creatures. My wife and I live locally and we took relatives who were vacationing with us from Scotland.

My ten year old grandson loved it. He asked questions and got to pet a wolf dog. I enjoyed it too. And not expensive. A must visit.

Decided to check this place out while in Montgomery, TX checking out a restaurant we heard about. What an amazing place. Even though you need to make reservations in order to visit we took the chance of reserving from the car in the parking lot and were lucky that they had room to fit us in, The tour guide was... I was extremely excited about going to this place and taking my nephews to see the wolves. Once we got there, it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. it was basically just a dog kennel (yes, with larger kennels) and the tour guide was not very good. She stumbled throughout the entire presentation and my nephews (ages... More

I visited here, for the second time, during Spring Break. There was a different interpreter both times, so this time, I got a slightly different perspective from the first time. The first time, we were all adults, and, at the end of the tour, we actually got to pet a wolf-dog. This time, there were many children, some of whom... More

We really enjoyed learning about the wolves and the wolf-dogs. The staff did a great job educating us on them and showing us around. Both of the kids enjoyed it.
