Very hot sand hills with no shade. Seems like a fun place for kids, picnic tables are sometimes buried in the sand. You can rent sand discs and other play equipment. There is a store.

We were in a fifth wheel but a lady and several children tent camped across from us. The area was well patrolled by Rangers.

Tent camping is very popular at Sandhills. I think it would be great...obviously check wind conditions for anything unusually high.
