We drove to Trujillo for the afternoon (staying in Caceres) the Plaza Mayor is one of the nicest squares we saw during our trip around Spain. The storks nesting on the rooftops, the buildings, the statues. Great place and afternoon out.

A lovely historic and attractive square with bars and restaurants and a great atmosphere.. Very good and safe for children. Typically Spanish and best to go at the weekend.

You can name the “Plaza Mayor” the key point of Trujillo. When you arrive into the historical centre of Trujillo, this should be one of the places to go to, as we were in the “Eurostars Palacio de Santa Marta” who is at less than...More





The Plaza Mayor is a focal point for many of the tourists that visit the town of Trujillo. It is a lovely place with restaurants/bars at the edges but is spoilt by being used as a car.

Shop around for the best café. Some have an English menu and lots do daily all-in specials. Choose one in the sun when the wind is blowing!
