We had a greek cooking class with my fiancé. We prepared a 3 course meal in just one hour. Melina has adapted traditional greek recipes for today's lifestyle. We were impressed by the tricks and tweaks she suggested to make the recipes healthier and faster to prepare. This was ideal for us, because it will allow us to make the recipes she taught us when we go back home. Melina is super warm and welcoming and made us feel instantly comfortable. We also felt free to ask her questions, like how to pick good quality vegetables at the grocery store etc ("beginner" cook questions that we've always wanted to ask an expert!). Overall, we would 100% do this again and we recommend it to anyone interested in learning to cook greek meals!

Melina is a most delightful host, taking you through traditional Greek recipes with lots of organic and nutritional notes. Very chatty with perfect English and stories about the ingredients, all of which surpisingly can be found back home. Conducted in a custom-designed, demonstration kitchen studio.

We literally LOVED the afternoon that we spent with Melina. The cooking class with her was definitively one of the best moments of our last summer vacation in Greece :))

Melina is a wonderful, super welcoming person and excellent teacher, she welcomed us with a heartwarming smile that made us feel comfortable instantly. Her cooking class was very easy to follow and we learned, not only how to cook but also a lot about the Greek culture !

Everything we made with her was so yummy and at the end, she even prepared a dinner box for us with the rest so we could enjoy again the delicious cuisine that we made together.

Even if you are not really interested in cooking, just try the cooking class with Melina, it’s not a simple cooking class, it’s an encounter, an experience !

Thanks again Melina, we miss you :))

I have enjoyed many cooking experiences in Europe in the last few years and Melina's Delightful Cuisine was one of them. She has a very unique approach to cooking. She gives you the Greek food experience with less calories and still the wonderful taste! Her desire is to give you a truly authentic feel for Greek cooking, When you arrive at Melina's kitchen she wants to get to know you personally. She puts you at ease and then she takes you on a tour of her neighborhood. She takes you to the butcher shop, the green grocer and the bakery. At each place you meet the owner and she purchases the ingredients for cooking class. You get a feeling for real Greek cooking. She then shows you how to prepare and serve what you have gotten in the neighborhood and then you eat! Her cooking class is right up there with all the other wonderful things I have experienced in my travels!

If you only have time for one sentence (TLDR) here it is: you will leave Melina’s kitchen with a full and happy stomach, unforgettable memories of a wonderful time, and a new friend…stop researching and book your experience before someone else beats you to it.

We found Melina by chance driven by a desire for a cooking experience that was outside the standard philo pie, moussaka, and gyro classes. When my daughter and I saw that she would teach us to make loukoumades (traditional Greek donuts) we were sold and didn’t bother to read reviews or research further. We had no idea how amazing Melina was until the day of our class. Leading up to the day she was helpful with directions, transportation logistics (bus stop just a minute or two from her studio), and questions to confirm possible dietary restrictions or allergies.

Once we arrived, she greeted us warmly and with traditional beverages and talked us through the schedule for the afternoon and the historic significance of loukoumades. Then the cooking began and we got hands on experience with sweet, savory and fruity varieties of loukoumades. Mixed in were stories, laughter and a bit of grandmotherly wisdom passed down through her family. She buys local and organic when possible and gives a quick acknowledgement to the local producers in case you want to seek them out. And of course we had plenty of eating. We had so much food that she packed us a care package of leftovers to eat later.

It’s not my story to tell, but I suggest you ask her how she got into cooking, about her cookbook, and the experiences she has had along the way. She’s a bit of a celebrity although she’s so humble you would never know it.

There was no rush to leave, I think we could have stayed for the rest of the afternoon, but we had other adventures to begin so we traded contact info for recipes, took some photos with our new friend and discussed future plans to come back someday and do one of her market to table classes where she takes you shopping in the local markets and then cooks with the fresh ingredients. If you have a specific dish request, reach out to her and she will work with you to plan your personalized experience. If you are looking for a cooking class in Athens, look no further Melina is as good as it gets.

Melina was wonderful. Such a sweet lady. We learned to cook some traditional Greek dishes right from Melina's heart. When in Athens, I highly recommend this experience. We did everything from shopping together to cooking the dishes.

Myself and two friends (all retired) met with Melina to learn some of the joys and secrets of Greek style food. We were the only ones in the class. She is a patient teacher and held our rapt attention for approximately 4 hours. We shopped, prepped, cooked and ate traditional Greek food prepared in ways that honored the traditions and also honored a healthy life style. Did I mention the wine? Two of us have sodium restrictions and she incorporated that into her instruction. By the end of four hours, I no longer considered ours to be a teacher-student relationship but I felt we departed as friends. We have maintained some communication via e-mail since(mostly food related) If you enjoy cooking and you like the company of wonderful people, Melina is the go to person for a cooking class.

Spending the afternoon with Melina is like spending the day cooking with a family member. Melina is so warm and welcoming. My mother, sisters, aunt, friends and I spent some time getting to know Melina before we started our walk around the neighborhood to gather our items. We visited the bakery, butcher, and produce stores and then headed back to Melina's beautiful kitchen to start cooking. Everyone had a job, the wine flowed, we laughed, and the food was amazing. It was truly one of my favorite experiences in our weeks in Greece. I didn't want to leave. Be careful or you too will end up with another member of your family! We keep in touch with Melina and I hope to be back in her kitchen again soon!

We had the most magical time with Melina learning about the origins of Greek donuts and then preparing 5 different types, for the original donut coins that were made for the athletes competing in the first Olympics back in 345 BC, as well as making traditional, sweet and two savory donuts. Melina is absolutely delightful. She is warm and caring, funny and engaging, and she has so much knowledge about Greek cuisine. We had so much fun making the donuts and of course eating them!! It was such a wonderful time and we one hundred percent recommend this experience and Melina. She is a gem!

My wife and our daughters (ages 11 and 9) took the class on how to make Loukoumades (Greek donuts) with Melina. Melina was wonderful -- a great combination of education and fun. She was very welcoming and made sure everybody was included in each part of the recipe. Highly recommended!
