Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

one of the many beaches in Vouliagmeni, this location offers visitors scenic walks by the beach among dozens of pine trees that in some cases reach the water,it has an ok semi organized free beach and many cute places where one can eat or drink all year round . You will find people jogging or walking their dogs all day long.

I stayed at a nearby hotel (The Amarilia) and it was only a short 2-minute stroll to the beach. The beach has brown, fine sand and plenty of space. The water is shallow enough to wade for about 40 feet. There was no noticeable current at the time. There are many shade trees in addition to available umbrellas if one needs to avoid a sunburn. Street parking is available but not plentiful unless you go early. The two adjacent seaside restaurants have very good traditional Greek food with fresh fish available almost always. I especially liked the fried squid and the oven-baked sea bass. The view at sunset is magnificent.

nothing was too much trouble, the food is excellent and the wine list has great value quality wines. The manager was most helpful with recommended dishes and accompanying drinks. on one occasion we were planning to eat alfresco as it was very hot, he said best sit inside it is going to rain; low and behold 10 mins later it was pouring. luckily we had headed his advice.

Food average, missing the "tasty" factor. I was eating on my own and was made to feel comfortable.. So it was ok

I like megalo kavouri (big crab) mostly because is still free with good blue waters. The surrounding environment reminds a lot island with many pine trees and sand hills!

Even better than Mikro Kavouri! A nice place to swim and have leisure activities. Albeit, it is usually crowded

I spent most of my time in the Mediterranean swimming and just enjoying the wonderful sea. Beach area is small, but once I put my towel on a chair I spent the rest of the time in the water.

Large bay with great views. The sand is not always clean, and waters can get a little dirty in busy days

Megalo Kavouri beach is the best near Athens beach. Water is not very clean. We were many times there on July month all the time Jelly fish Medusa burn me and kids. Many people are coming here Greeks or foreigners living in Greece. They bring foods and drinks from their homes. The sea smell like water Mellon I don't know from fruits or from oil which people use. Sands is not very clean . Little shadow u can find under the few trees. U cN bring yr umbrella and chairs. So have fun.

Being a free beach be warned that at summer time, it will have large crowds. The beach is U-shaped meaning no big waves will be present, so it is ideal for small children along with the fact the waters are shallow. The only problem is when south winds are blowing in which case the beach get a bit filled up with garbage. Generally though is on of the cleanest beaches of Athens according to the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
The two tavernas are decent (do not expect haute cuisine). You can enjoy some ouzo-dishes which are fresh and mostly tasty.
It has great parking space if you choose to go by car.
The best time to enjoy this beach is at the evenings close to and after sunset.
