The preservation and presentation is remarkable. The family was important to Texas history and one gets a sense of how they lived because most of the furniture is original to the house. The curator is exceptionally knowledgeable. Beautiful home and setting.

I toured the Starr Family Home during December. It was decorated with decorations for the era. The home has been, and continues to be renovated. But the living quarters are done. The house is magnificent; especially considering the early 1800s. 90% of the furniture in...More

I have been trying to get to the new kitchen/return to the old kitchen. I have been able to visit the Stars House 3 times. I always enjoy the trip.

So much history in this picturesque Marshall, TX estate. The guide was very understandably passionate about this lovely and meticulously restored Greek revival home. Take the time to go off highway and see this Texas historical jewel. It won't disappoint.
