Weather was finally clear enough on our weekend trip. Very nice viewing station with benches. We arrived a little before 10 and did see some lights. Not sure what they were, but it certainly wasn't a car.

The lights weren't present and at best are very rare to appear, but the view doesn't disappoint especially for stargazing on a new moon night when its completely dark.

We stopped here after midnight on our way south from Ft. Davis. We did appreciate the mysterious aspects of the reported phenomenon but didn't witness anything more than car head and tail lights in the distance to the right side of the landmark radio tower.

We got there at 9pm and left at 11pm. During that time we saw the lights various times. They were yellow and shades of pink. It was amazing how some were very bright and got brighter, while others lingered and some showed up for just...More

When I grew up here there was a side of a road to sit on....now there is a visitor/viewing center!!!! Even though we did not see anything, we enjoyed the experience. However, the sheer number of people kinda took away from the mystery!

It was an ok trip. We did see some mysterious lights in the dessert, but it wasn't as exciting as I had heard it would be.

I expected more, but still glad I went. Go check it out, but don't expect anything like the Aurora Borealis.

It's open all the time because it is basically a roadside park positioned to give a good view of the lights. The lights come out at dusk so don't go there during the day.....you won't see them then!

I don't recall any overnight parking or RV sites. Marfa isn't far, however, and you could stay there.
