We were on a bus tour that arrived in Marfa in the day time. Obviously, we could not see anything. Always arrive after dark and go to the location where the lights appear. They are not there every night, but, if you do see them,...More

If you are lucky enough to see the actual lights, the different colored ones that float, change colors, sometimes chase each other, then mysteriously fade away, consider yourself extremely lucky. It's something you'll NEVER forget.

I hear thats rare, and unfortunate for those who didn't see them on their trip. Its odd, not spooky. i figure rednecks off in the distance! People have been out in an attempt to explain this away and cannot. The 'crowd' is fun, the sky...More

Drove out to the spot ( only 10 minutes or so). Terrific vibe with a wind blowing and clouds moving about blocking and unblocking the full moon. Kinda peaceful. It's really the vibe and the energy I take with me. Mostly red lights ( to...More

Away from the big city lights of Marfa and Alpine with good bathrooms and an upper deck. You can certainly see a long way but can you see the Marfa lights? Go and find out it's about 12 miles East of Marfa.

If you're from a big city - you'll be shock d when you gaze up at the night sky and easily see the Milky Way and some 10,000 stars. The Marfa Mystery Lights are also easily seen - pretty cool considering they have never figured...More

We went late at night as a fluke and so glad we did. The lights did not disappoint and might even say it was the high light of our trip. It was a very easy spot to find late at night and felt safe. We...More

Worth checking out at least once. The crowd was more interesting than the mystery lights. Nice facility with restrooms. Bring chairs if you plan to spend much time - there isn't much seating.

We didn't get to see the lights on the night we were here, but the west Texas sky is beautiful at night anyway! Had bathrooms and just enjoyed the cool weather in August.

It's open all the time because it is basically a roadside park positioned to give a good view of the lights. The lights come out at dusk so don't go there during the day.....you won't see them then!
