Went along to look for the lights as I was staying the night in Marfa. To me it was the Irish equivalent to searching for Leprechauns! More myth than reality but enjoyed how seriously some people took the whole thing!

There’s the famous Marfa Lights that appear in the desert that cannot be explained (or know one really wants to😎). There was an observation site with picnic tables, mounted binoculars for both standing and wheelchair levels. Historical markers all around the property with historical events...More

We were in Marfa the Sunday night of memorial weekend. We stopped by the Marfa lights viewing area at about 10.15pm and stayed for a short while. There were lots of people - we didn’t see the lights though, unfortunately! Maybe we didn’t stay long...More

My friends and I went expecting to see more lights than we did. It honestly was so faint and distant for us that we had to ask some locals that we saw hanging out then they pointed out for us... it was still what seemed...More

Being in Marfa, figured this was a must. It is pretty much a rest stop with a few telescopes. Came here at night. The night was super clear and you could see so many stars. There were quite a few folks there...maybe too crowded. What...More

We spent a few days in the area near Marfa. In just two days we heard stories of Marfa lights, first-hand from residents in the area. These lights, according to them, are seen in areas near Marfa also. The pics I took were during the...More

I think we saw the lights. We saw 1-3 lights at a time far off in the distance across a field that seemed to blink, fade, and move in weird ways. We went around 10:30-11pm and I think it would've been better to go after...More

They have a nice setup for viewers. You are not out far enough for good night viewing but we saw the lights. We have no idea where they originate but it was cool.

Maybe we left too early, it was a full moon, we saw no lights. The stars were great though and we enjoyed visiting with fellow watchers.

It's open all the time because it is basically a roadside park positioned to give a good view of the lights. The lights come out at dusk so don't go there during the day.....you won't see them then!
