I have lived in Lubbock almost my whole life, but have never visited the Buddy Holly Center, so a friend of mine and I went on a Sunday after church and I must say I have no idea why I waited so long to visit. It was very imformative about all kinds of music and the set up of the... More

It's small, but has some interesting displays. Don't miss Elton John's glasses on show there! Also a nice little gift shop. In the summer, they have events and music shows in the courtyard. Much more worth it to find out when those are held to visit then.

If you are a big Buddy Holly fan, visit. If you just really like an air conditioned place to hang out for a little while, visit. If you have nothing else to do and it's hot and you can afford to go, then visit here. For seniors $6 each. I think it's $8 under 62. I do not recommend otherwise.... More

Small but good and interesting. The film is well worth seeing. If you do the Slient Wings Museum it's half price so well worth it.

Buddy died very young and it seems they have managed to gather an amazing number of artifacts from his life in Lubbock. From old drawings he made in school to a pair of glasses recovered from the crash that took his life. Well worth the small admission fee. There is also an older (1999) documentary film which sets the scene... More

Hard to believe after going through this well-executed museum that Buddy Holly only had an 18-month career before his life ended in a plane crash. His impact on early rock-and-roll is still felt today. Worth a visit, particularly if you have music interests. Nice statue of Buddy and plaques honoring other musicians/entertainers across the street at the West Texas Wall... More

Introductory movie was good & the rest of the display was organized well -- be sure to get the folded paper that tells you what you're looking at in each display case.

The Buddy Holly Center is outstanding tribute. The center has an 18-minute video about Buddy Holly and his contributions to music. The Museum has many memorabilia including his iconic glasses! The center also contains an art gallery featuring local artists and a gift shop. The center is an interesting way to spend an hour.

I took a grandson here this month. It was an interesting visit and we both learned things that we didn't know about Buddy Holly. Take time to watch the video. Hint - We got in for 1/2 price, by presenting a receipt from the Silent Wings Museum. The visit only takes about 45 minutes.

I have wanted to visit ever since it opened and was not disappointed. If you are expecting a place where you can spend the day-this is not it. But for the price and a little bit more time than a standard Movie, it is a very interesting history not only of Buddy, but of the birth of rock n roll... More
