After I had difficulty in finding this I found a note on the door saying it was closed due to a lack of volunteers. I understand this but maybe there should be a way of informing people.

Vistor center, public restroom, small train museum. Plenty of parking across the tracks. No charge for admission. The day went a city worker was present (her office was in the museum). She was very pleasant and answered all our questions.

This is a good location to begin a tour of Kingsville and the King Ranch. It is a historical site that is being utilized and has information beneficial to the tourist.
