We had booked a vineyard and wine tasting tour. Tour turned out to be of the production facilities only and were only given two red wines which were terrible. Had lunch - service was slow and quality of food was poor. Went to purchase wine at the shop and the cashier tried to fleece me by asking for a higher price than was shown in the display cabinet and playing around with the exchange rate and change. A complete lack of integrity.

After a horrible experience at a neighboring Chateau Ksara (see my review on it), my husband and I made a beeline for Chateau Kefraya, the second largest winery in Lebanon. The drive alone was gorgeous, driving through tree lined streets and a backdrop of lush mountains. You'll pass by several vineyards on your way there but keep going to Kefraya.

We were greeted by parking attendants that were friendly and pointed out our way to the entrance. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who apologetically told us that the train tour of their property did not run that day but invited us for a wine tasting. We went through a series of beautiful tasting wine, including rare and vintage wines. I would highly recommend their dessert wines too, one of the best I've ever had!

We sat for dinner with a view of the vineyard and mountains and watched the sun set over the hills. While dinner was being prepared, we walked around their gardens which was beautiful. When the waiters called us for dinner, we returned to a gorgeous table with great tasting mezza (communal starters). We passed by the store to buy some wine and management was there helping us pick out good bottles based on our preference and even offered more wine to taste!

What a wonderful way to end the visit! I highly recommend visiting this vineyard!

I visited the winery on a beautiful day and the site is amazing. We looked at having a wine tasting and we were told that the next one was in 45 minutes by a staff that totally appeared like she did not wanted to be there. Although disappointed that we had to wait to taste their products, we sat down and enjoyed the scenery. Some people were being served wine while others were waiting for the buffet. After waiting for over 15 minutes to see a waiter, I had to waive someone to get service. I asked if they had a menu and was told no, only the buffet at $55UDS per person. I asked if we could have a plate of cheese and a bottle of their wine and the waiter reiterated that only the buffet was available. Again, with a condescending tone of voice and a clear attitude showing he did not wanted to work on that day.

Despite the nice grounds, this place do not meet its reputation. Other wineries in the Bekaa valley are much worth your time.

I arranged for a driver to take me to Baalbek and Anjar Roman ruins, and Chateau Kefraya from Beirut and back, for about $160 US ... a little pricey, but worth it ... let's face it, my life was in this fellow's hands, which is somewhat important! ... we were heading into Hezbollah territory, which, was fine, nobody hassled us ... anyway — we showed up at the winery and I asked for a premier wine tasting ... I was the only one there on a rainy day, so, I got the red carpet ... the sommelier (sorry, his name escapes me) was fantastic ... he gave me a wonderful spiel on their wines, and much more ... and the wines? OMG ... one red wine in particular was SO good ... I ended up buying two bottles and, some Cuban cigars, along with the tasting fee ... in total, about $80US or so ... I have to say, their wines are superb ... everything I tasted was beyond my expectations, to be honest ... if you go to Beirut, you MUST go here!!!! ... trust me, you will not be disappointed ...

Made the journey to visit Kefraya after an outstanding trip to Ksara only to be left feeling disappointed.
We were hoping to do some wine tasting, however we were offered just half a glass of wine from a solemn looking gentleman who didn't smile once, didn't explain what we were drinking or make any effort to be friendly at all.
There were several other bottles open but after our half a glass of white he took our glasses and walked away from the bar.

I was mildly angered but overall extremely disappointed.

So much potential, beautiful setting but let down by terrible staff and poor organisation.

Chateau Kefraya is one of the finest wine produced in Lebanon. A lot of expectations were placed on this visit. Although we did not have the chance to try the restaurant or taste the wine, we got the chance to enjoy the splendid vineyards, enjoy a tour in the train and a walk to the Chateau.
I was very disappointed however to deal with the gloomy service. We headed to the information desk as soon as we arrived, yet the service was poor and lacking transparency.
The train tour lasted 30 mins and is priced at 6.5$ per person. The trains takes you around the vineyard and you get the chabce to view some old roman tombs. Personally, I thought it was overpriced due to the lack of guide around. PS. The train ride gets mildly bumpy in some sections.
The walk to the chateau was satisfying. The chateau has a nice garden around it and that's about all you can see as no entry to the lalace is allowed.

We heard about this winery a long time ago and since our vacation site was nearby, we decided to take a tour.
First, there were two tours. First one which was quite expensive for a lousy tour (6.5$ for adults and 4$ for children for half an hour "train" tour around vineyards), and the second, surprisingly free, a tour inside the wine factory to explain the winemaking process.
After a brief wine tasting we checked the restaurant, and since it was too expensive (55$ per person for a buffet lunch), we skipped it for a better and cheaper restaurants which are plenty in the region.
We had a similar tour experience of a winery in Tuscany, Italy which was far better and enjoyable. I was very disappointed with this one.

We visited Chateau Kefraya on December 2019. We did the estate outdoor tour, the cellars visit and we had lunch at the house restaurant. Noel our guest was very nice to us and explained with much details the history of Chateau Kefraya, the wine making process and guided us through the the characteristics of their produce during the wine tasting. The property is really beautiful at the footsteps of the hills overlooking the Beqaa Valley. The chateau’s wine cellar visit is particularly interesting since in addition to oak casks the property has started to use clay amphorae as part of the vinification process. Their first wine, Comte de M is really good: silky feeling and spices aromas combine to build a solid and pleasing wine. I strongly recommend to stop by at Chateau Kefraya while visiting the Beqaa Valley.

Lebanon has various chateaux and vineyards, Kefraya is one of them. The place itself is very nice, clean, you can catch a tour by walk or by a tractor in the fields. There is a free degustation (white/rose/red - only one of each) and a restaurant. We did not eat in the restaurant but seemed quite pricey. Still an experience to do.

If you're in the region plan to put it on your agenda for half day followed by a meal it will make a whole activity. Take the tour and try the wine selection if you're into wine - they have a nice variety. the scenery of the vineyard and the mountain weather makes it a nice relaxing activity.
