This is a lovely state park none for good birding. We did not camp but visited the several really nice bird blinds. Look forward to going back.

Great State Park for getting away for tubing the river, watching wildlife, & star gazing at night. Park is relatively small so crowds are not a problem. The park is home to huge pecan trees and in the Fall it is a roosting area for...More

And it is an awesome place to tube, canoe, kayak and just enjoy the outdoors. Legend says once you have had a drink from the Land of Living Water, you will return again and again. There are good swimming holes up and down the river....More

Probably camped there six or seven times and always enjoyed it. The camp sites are not on the river, but very peaceful, generally quiet and serene. As for the river, the best access is actually at the park entrance. You can float down from there...More

We have visited many times, and we are never disappointed. This time, we did birding photography for spring migration at the numerous bird blinds, kayaking up and down the river, camping, and visiting with lots of nice people. It's a beautiful park, and great for...More
