Good way to kill an hour, watching planes take off and land at DFW. Get a flight tracket (Flight Radar 24) and you will be able to tell where each plane came from.

This observation area is easily accessed by Texan Trail without fighting the airport terminal traffic. Lots of parking and even some covered seating so you can stay out of the sun in the summer. Great place to watch airliners land and take off. You get the full experience, but the noise isn't so bad that young children will be scared.

Great place if you like to watch airplanes and see how a major airport operates. A safe place to take the family for an outing.

This is a purpose-built, well designed area to watch DFW airplanes land or take off or land (depending on wind direction). It offers a panoramic view of the north end of the airport, very close to the end of the runways. There are several monuments of moderate interest, and they broadcast the actual radio traffic from loudspeakers. It is a... More

Located on the north end of the airport, this nice little park is perfect for plane watching. How the aircraft land or takeoff depends on the weather for the day but you'll still be able to get a great shot of all of the airport operations as well as the cargo area for UPS directly in front of you. I loved visiting the observation area. It is fairly close to the airport and not difficult to get to. If you have time to kill (as i did), this place is the spot for you. You won't be disappointing.

Our son stopped by here on the way to the airport in the late afternoon. Our 3 year old grandson loved looking at planes through the free (mostly broken) observation glasses. With onlt about 20 paring spaces, it can be difficult to park. There are also remote control fire truck (also no working) in what looks like an old fountain.... More

If you love watching airplanes, this little park is for you! Plenty of room to spread a picnic lunch out on a table, and watch the operations of one of the world's busiest airports. I have sat there, eating my breakfast, peacefully watching the airport come to life at sunrise, smelling the kerosene fuel (mmm...delicious to an aviation nut!), and... More

When I was a child, growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, my Dad would take us to the airport and we'd park on the north side of Brookpark Rd and watch the airliners arriving and departing for hours. Now, nearly 60, I am reliving that wonderful part of my childhood at the Founder's Plaza in Grapevine. This amazing little park, on... More

There is a lot to say about a place where you can spend 15 minutes to several hours. Depending on the time of day and season. It is free and there are also several free binoculars stations that you can also use. There is a dedicated area for the military R &R which shows the aircraft and two fire trucks... More
