First off I love the Houston Fire Museum! Housed in a old Houston fire station the museum is small. Although the size is small it is packed with history. It boasts a play area for children that has the cab of an actual fire truck...More

I had no idea this was here till we came for an art show in the building. I loved this and would suggest it to anyone visiting Houston who has an interest in its history.

We were so excited to check this out but it was sort of lame. You looked in 2 rooms to read about history and there was a tiny play area for the kids. We did come on a free kid day but the cost of...More

Recently took my little one (5) to the Fire Museum. He loved the old fire trucks and the nice fireman who was there. Not a big museum but worth a look. Lots of history on the fire department in Houston.

While the kids had fun, the museum only had one room really dedicated to them. I was expecting an old engine or two for them to climb. There was a short pole for them to slide down, and an "engine cab" they could use to...More

This museum is okay, but it is in an odd location downtown with only limited street parking. They have a decent amount of merchandise, but the staff do not seem to be that enthusiastic about being there. There are better fire museums out there, like...More

This museum took my family about 45 minutes to go through . There were nice displays, not a lot of info for the up stairs. The main display on the floor level gave a lot of fire history.

The six year old old loved the opportunity to dress up as firemen and climb over the preserved fire trucks. All the adults appreciated the nostalgic pictures and fact that the historic firehouse wasn't torn down.

For a city with such. A vibrant history as Houston and with the sheer amount of equipment in the area it's really ashame this was not down better. Ok to see but really, Houston. Brenham has a better one.
