This theatre is nestled in the theatre district of downtown Houston. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, nice concessions, and intimate seating. The validate parking as well. It has traditional movie fare but also has more artsy genre. It is great for date nights.

Love that I can select where to sit in the theater. Also, the crowd is older and you don't have a lot of teenagers hanging around.

If you are concerned about food options, read this review! It was time for date night, and the debate was about what movie, which venue, and what to eat. I agreed to Sundance, where we could see our movie of choice AND eat. I had been before, and enjoyed the lack of kids, tweens and teen due to the offered... More

This cinema was different to most I've visited. There is more available to customers than just the usual popcorn and snacks and the variety of films differs from just blockbusters to allow the independent films an audience as well. It is well located and I found the service from staff on my visits excellent. The layout, with a small table... More

Do not go at thight when there are no parking attendants or you will be stuck paying anyway, like we did. Well the theater was great. too bad our evening was marred by the outrageous theft of parking fees. Though they claim they validate the parking for you , and they did, there was no one at the attendant booth... More

We'd gone to see Deep Water Horizon yesterday at a large Houston Theater but the projection lights were so dim there was no color to the screen. We got our money back and figured we'd see the film back home. But then I found the Sundance Cinema online and am I glad I did. First of all, all seats are... More

I loved this place when it was opened as Angelika because it was new, stylish, good food, and indie movies. It closed up and reopened as almost the exact same concept a few years later under the Sundance name. Gone was the chef inspired food but cocktails and indie movies stayed. They added Robert Redford to the movie openings and... More
