Free tour with free beverage (coffee on the way out and canned sodas after they make the turn around - one can per guest and you gotta be quick as the serving window is like only 10 minutes). Tours at 9 am and 2:30 pm. We picked the latter. It says reservations required but nobody checked names or ID. It... More

This is a very nice Boat Tour of the Port of Houston. The boat is very nice. We went in early December when it was colder and rainy. The inside of the boat was very comfortably and warm. It's a free boat tour. They give you complimentary coffee and soft drinks. There is some narrative that is interesting. I liked... More

Great relaxing view of the Houston deep water channel. Very relaxing and low key. The narrated tour is very informative. The tour is free but Reservations are required and can be done online. It is a family friendly tour. Opportunity to see large freighters and cargo ships loading at the port. Comfortable and suitable for all weather conditions.

The staff was wonderful. Very very hospitable and warm. They were the best part of the trip! This is a free harbor cruise, so one can hardly complain! I live in Galveston and take the Bolivar Ferry occasionally..that's free too. If you are on a budget this is a good option! If not on a budget, if you're visiting from... More

You get what you pay for … it is free. That should explain much of what you may expect. It takes weeks to actually get a spot on the boat. The one-hour trip from the upper turning basin of the Ship Channel down to the Washburn Tunnel and return is interesting but too short. The 1958 vintage vessel is well... More

We took our two grandsons ages 10 and 5. After seeing the first couple of ships, they asked how much longer until we get back. I noticed that other children weren't that interested either. The Port Authority does everything right. The grounds are very clean, the boat looked freshly painted and very clean, the crew was exceptionally nice and helpful.... More

FREE boat ride past the shipping docks and ships in Buffalo Bayou, part of the Port of Houston. Handicap accessible. Hard to find in the industrial district. Interesting if you are into big boats.

We enjoyed our boat ride that left precisely on time. The ride was a little over an hour, there is no cost and they give you water, delicious coffee and soft drinks. There was an informative narrative about the port and the workers were extremely pleasant.

You can see some of the activity at the port such as the pilot boats assisting the large ships navigate through the channel. It's free. You can see some of the commercial warehouses and containers. Nice weather is a plus to do this. Take a jacket because the windiness can make it feel rather chilly during March. You can stay... More

This was average at best. It's free, thank goodness. Not all that educational or interesting, but you do get a chance to see freighters from all over the world.
